Warranty Policy
This Warranty Policy governs warranty claims relating to automotive spare parts and related Products purchased from Zefix. This Policy forms part of the Zefix Terms and Conditions of Sale and operates independently from the Returns and Refund Policy.
Given the technical nature of automotive components and the involvement of third-party installation, warranty claims are subject to strict verification and manufacturer evaluation procedures.
1. SCOPE OF WARRANTY COVERAGE
Zefix does not provide an independent commercial warranty beyond that offered by the original manufacturer of the Product.
Where a Product is supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty, such warranty shall apply strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
Zefix acts solely as a retailer and intermediary for warranty facilitation and shall not be deemed the manufacturer of the Product.
2. WARRANTY ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
A warranty claim may be considered only if:
- The Product was professionally installed by a qualified automotive technician;
- The Product was used under normal operating conditions;
- The Product was not modified, altered, or tampered with;
- The defect arises from a manufacturing fault and not from misuse or installation error;
- Proof of purchase from Zefix is provided;
- Any required installation invoice or mechanic report is provided upon request.
Failure to satisfy these conditions may result in rejection of the warranty claim.
3. EXCLUSIONS FROM WARRANTY COVERAGE
The following circumstances are expressly excluded from warranty coverage:
- Improper or incorrect installation;
- Installation without professional mechanical expertise;
- Electrical surges or wiring faults within the vehicle;
- Use in modified, racing, or high-performance applications unless expressly designed for such use;
- Normal wear and tear;
- Environmental damage (water ingress, corrosion, contamination);
- Accidental damage;
- Damage resulting from vehicle malfunction unrelated to the supplied Product;
- Labour, installation, removal, towing, or diagnostic costs;
- Downtime or loss of vehicle use;
- Special-order Products where manufacturer warranty does not apply.
Electrical and electronic components are particularly sensitive and may require diagnostic verification prior to warranty consideration.
4. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE
To initiate a warranty claim, the Customer must:
- Notify Zefix in writing with a description of the alleged defect;
- Provide Order number and proof of purchase;
- Provide installation documentation where requested;
- Deliver the Product physically to the designated Zefix warehouse in Accra for inspection.
Zefix does not offer collection services for warranty claims.
All transportation costs associated with submitting a warranty claim shall be borne by the Customer.
5. INSPECTION AND MANUFACTURER ASSESSMENT
All warranty claims are subject to technical inspection.
Zefix reserves the right to:
- Conduct preliminary inspection;
- Forward the Product to the manufacturer or authorized distributor for evaluation;
- Reject claims where installation damage or misuse is detected.
The manufacturer’s determination regarding defect status shall be final and binding.
Evaluation timelines may vary depending on manufacturer procedures and supply chain conditions.
6. REMEDIES
Where a warranty claim is approved, the remedy shall be limited to one of the following at Zefix’s discretion:
- Repair of the Product;
- Replacement with the same or equivalent Product;
- Refund of the purchase price.
No alternative compensation shall be provided.
Zefix shall not reimburse installation, removal, labour, diagnostic, towing, or transportation costs under any circumstances.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted under Ghanaian law, Zefix’s liability under any warranty claim shall not exceed the original purchase price of the Product.
Zefix shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from alleged Product defects.
8. SPECIAL-ORDER PRODUCTS
Special-order or custom-sourced Products shall be subject solely to the warranty terms offered by the original manufacturer, if any.
Where the manufacturer provides no warranty, Zefix shall have no independent warranty obligation.
9. BURDEN OF PROOF
The Customer bears the burden of demonstrating that the alleged defect is attributable to a manufacturing fault and not to installation error, misuse, environmental conditions, or vehicle-related causes.
Zefix reserves the right to reject claims where adequate supporting documentation is not provided.
10. STATUTORY RIGHTS
Nothing in this Warranty Policy shall exclude rights that cannot be lawfully excluded under applicable Ghanaian legislation.
However, where permitted by law, all implied warranties are limited to the duration and scope of the manufacturer’s warranty.
